 Beginner Quilt Class 

Date: Wednesday, October 4th 10am-4pm — In classroom at Road 17 N Quilt Shop

Instructor: Road 17 N Staff

Cost: $25.00 (Payment is required at time of registration)

Learn how to piece, press, cut and quilt. Learn Borders and binding. Learn how to finish off an envelope pillow. Lastly its small enough to go home with a finished project!

Supply List:

  • Sewing Machine in good working order, foot pedal and manual – IMPORTANT
  • Quilting, embroidery or darning foot, check your manual for free motion quilting instructions. bring all attachments if you are unsure.
  • regular sewing supplies and quilting gloves, fabric markers, pencils, rulers, notepad if you like to take notes.
  • PLEASE BRING A LUNCH
  • 2 Mini Charms
  • 6″ fabric for binding
  • 3″ fabric for border
  • .5 M for backing
  • .5 M Muslin
  • 20″x 20″ piece of batting
  • thread to match

Machine Embroidery Club

Dates: Thursday September 14th, Thursday October 12th, Wednesday November 15th, Thursday December 7th

Time: 1:00pm – 4:00pm

Instructor: Road 17 N Staff

Cost: $25 (payment is required at the time of registration)

Do you love embroidery and want to learn fun techniques? Join our monthly Kimberbell Club! Each month you will complete a different project entirely in the hoop. If you do not have an embroidery machine but are interested in trying one, call the shop to reserve a machine so you can join in. (cost of reserving a Husqvarna embroidery machine is $25) Sign up for one as many classes at a time. There are a total of 12 unique projects. (2018 dates TBA)

  • Please bring your machine, all embroidery attachments and needs, manual, and a USB stick (3-5 GB or the USB that came with your machine) to receive the current month design.
  • This program is suitable for most embroidery machines, makes and models.
  • You will receive printed instructions and a USB file for the project when you attend. Supplies will be included (unless stated that month)
  • If you wish to keep your project patterns in order, please bring a 3-ring clear view binder to your first class and we will give you an insert for the cover.

“Lori Holt” Day

Date: Thursday September 28 10am – 4pm

Instructor: Road 17 N Staff

Cost: $60 (payment required at time of registration)

Supply list

  • all supplies for design boards and pin cushion are included in class registration  fee
  • Sewing machine and basic sewing supplies, small ruler, marking pens, best press, small rotary cutter, a variety of coordinating fat quarters and/or scraps for birthday cake mini quilt (approx. 9 different colors) hot glue gun and sticks.

*You don’t want to miss this one if you are a Lori Holt Fan! Magnets, tin and small cutting mat free when attending class

we will be making a pin cushion, 4 small design boards and the birthday cake mini quilt.

Berry Baskets and Strawberry Pin Cushions

Date: Thursday September 21 1pm – 4pm

Instructor: Road 17 N Staff

Cost: $36 (payment required at the time of registration)

  • All supplies are included in class registration fee
  • Learn to make these cute pin cushions and berry baskets. Useful little projects to make your sewing/craft room just that much cuter!

Charming Circles Jean Blanket Class

Date: Wednesday, October 18 10am – 4pm  — In Classroom at Road 17 N Quilt Shop

Instructor: Road 17 N Staff

Cost: $35 (payment required at the time of registration)

Ruler is included in class fee

Create a fun and easy ” Shabby Chic” project using your repurposed denim. Charming circles ruler is sized perfectly to work with 5″ squares.

Supply List:

  • Sewing machine in good working order, foot pedal and manual -IMPORTANT!
  • Regular sewing supplies, scissors to cut denim, fabric markers, pencils, notepad if you like to take notes.
  • 42 denim squares approx. 7″ squares

I try not to use the Denim that has to much stretch in it

  • 1 charm pack or 42 5″ squares

“New York Beauty” Paper Pieced Pillow

Date: Saturday October 28th 10am – 4pm

Instructor: Marj Moore

Cost: $75 (Book in included in cost of class)

Supply List:

  • Sewing Machine and basic supplies, thread
  • Fabric — a variety of scrappy pieces or a colorful charm pack with .1of 10 rainbow colors — .7 m for backing and sides
  • Add a quarter ruler, either 6″ or 12″
  • Please bring a lunch

Become a skilled foundation paper piecer with arcs and flying geese and master the curve as well.

Free Motion Quilting Level 1 Beginner

Date: Saturday, September 23rd  10am – 4pm

Instructor: Geesje Baron

Cost: $50 (payment required at time of registration

Supply List:

  • Sewing machine in good working order, foot pedal and manual -IMPORTANT!
  • Quilting, embroidery or darning foot, check your manual for free motion quilting instructions. Bring all attachments if you are unsure.
  • At least 6 pre-wound bobbins in a variety of colors.
  • Bring your thread collection and we can discuss the various differences between threads and their weights.
  • Machine needles, top stitch and/or microtex sizes 80/12 and 90/14
  • Regular sewing supplies and quilting gloves.
  • Approximately 12 quilting sandwiches minimum 12-15 square inches in sizes (TOP- fabric MIDDLE- batting BOTTOM-fabric) try not to choose busy prints. Scrap solids are the best, you can write on them and refer to what you did later.
  • Notepad and pen if you like to take notes.

Free Motion Quilting Level 2

Date: Saturday, October 7th 10am – 4pm –In Classroom at road 17 N Quilt Shop

Instructor: Geesje Baron

Cost: $50 (payment required at time of registration)

Supply List

  • Sewing Machine in good working order, foot pedal and manual -IMPORTANT!
  • Quilting, embroidery or darning foot, check your manual for free motion quilting instructions. Bring all attachments in you at unsure.
  • At least 6 pre-wound bobbins in a variety of colors.
  • Bring your thread collection and we can discuss the various differences between thread and their weights.
  • Machine needles, top stitch and/or microtex sizes 80/12 and 90/14
  • Regular sewing supplies and quilting gloves, fabric markers, pencil, tracing paper or press and seal by GLAD
  • 18″ square fabric, batting and backing. Please don’t use a busy print or the quilting will not show
  • 8″ x 10″ fabric, batting and backing. This will be your test piece.
  • Notepad and pen if you like to take notes
  • Please Bring a lunch

Date: Saturday, December 2 10am – 4pm –In Classroom at Road 17 N Quilt Shop

  • Quilting, embroidery or darning foot, check your manual for free motion quilting instructions. Bring all attachments in you at unsure.
  • At least 6 pre-wound bobbins in a variety of colors.
  • Bring your thread collection and we can discuss the various differences between thread and their weights.
  • Machine Needles, top stitch and/or microtex  sizes 80/12 and 90/14
  • Regular sewing supplies and quilting gloves, fabric markers, pencil, tracing paper or press and seal by GLAD, 6″ x 12″ ruler
  • 10-12 quilt sandwiches. approx. 10″x 12″ each fabric top, batting and backing. Please don’t use a busy fabric, solid scraps are the best for taking notes on and referring to later.
  • Notepad and pen if you like to take notes.

Stay n’ Sew Day

 Come join us every Tuesday afternoon from 1:30-4:30 in our classroom space to work on your sewing projects.   The  cost is 5$ to be paid at arrival.  This includes your sewing space and coffee/tea.  No reservation necessary. Just pop in!  Seating limited to 20.

At times there will be a short demo or project shown.  Otherwise its a great way to get some unfinished projects worked on AND create some new friendships in the quilting world!  We love to share our knowledge so you might learn something too!____________________________________________________________________
